We are rapidly expanding the engineering team at Twitch to deal with challenging scale problem of being the fourth biggest consumer of bandwidth and one of the largest social gaming experiences in the world. Twitch is looking an experienced C++ developer to build out new native desktop features and maintain and evolve the existing codebase.

Responsibilities

  • Working on variety of desktop systems including Electron, in-game overlay, and VoIP
  • Help maintain and evolve existing C++ codebase
  • Write maintainable code with extensive test coverage, working in a professional software engineering environment (with source control, dev/stage/prod release cycle, continuous deployment)

Requirements

  • 3+ years of C++ development experience
  • Strong proficiency in C++11 or higher, with fair knowledge of the language specification
  • Thorough knowledge of the standard library, STL containers, and algorithms
  • Good understanding of memory management in non-garbage collected environments
  • Familiarity with templating in C++
  • Knowledge of threading primitives

Bonus Points

  • Experience working with Chromium / Electron
  • Experience working with Operating System APIs (Windows and/or Mac)
  • Knowledge of writing native modules for high-level languages such as Node.js, Python, Go, etc.
  • Implementation of automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Windows audio programming
