Overview:
As Principal Software Engineer, you will have ownership of major product components, the development process, and development methodology. You will architect solutions and lead small teams to create core product features. These product features will span the spectrum of client-side and server-side development, including querying data using low-level operating system APIs. Many features are built to share components across multiple operating systems and platforms. You need to be an effective leader who can minimize cost while ensuring high standards of design, code quality, and unit and component testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide key leadership to development teams
  • A self-starter who is willing to take a task from gathering requirements to deployment and maintenance
  • Willing to mentor and guide fellow team members kindly and constructively
  • Develop and prototype new product concepts
  • Lead development teams in designing and building software with cross platform (Windows, Mac, Linux) deliverables
  • Own features from design to delivery including participation in product demonstrations
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams in multiple locations
  • Happy to travel occasionally for team meetings and events
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years in Software Development, at least 4+ years in Windows development
  • Professional experience designing, developing, testing, debugging and shipping high quality software
  • Experience leading teams to ship major features and releases
  • Able to lead, mentor, communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a distributed team
  • Extensive experience with C++ and Windows APIs
  • Knowledge of Windows COM APIs
  • Ability to work with remote, distributed teams

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong background in Security
  • Strong background in scalable systems
  • Familiarity and experience with Agile process
  • OS system expertise for core concepts and subsystems
  • A strong knowledge of C#/.NET application development
  • Experience with Microsoft Office plugins
  • Knowledge and Experience with Objective-C or Swift
  • Knowledge and experience using relational database systems especially SQLite
